FOURTH YEAR REPRESENTATIVE
ANTONY STOCKLER SATHLER
Hey there folks! I'm Antony and I'm in Geography and Aviation. I just finished up my PPL (I am slow) and I aim to create a more interconnected 4th year by having more outlets for communication. I have found that experiential advice and chances for learning and growth have a tendency to slip between the cracks. I aim to create a more connected 4th year and allow for online spaces to make learning from each other easier. I aim to strengthen and grow our team as pilots before we all head on to future postings.
I bring a passion for growth and an open inbox to make my best effort to help out anybody who needs it. I hope to help make the 4th year better for all those involved and aim to make us all more suitable candidates for the workforce. I have almost finished up all of my school courses so I will be very available to participate and engage in UWAS meetings to help create a more connected and more open community. I am excited to meet all the many faces of our program and help make it a better place for all of my fellow pilot pals. Thanks for reading, stay fly.

DANIEL MESWIN JUDE

Hey everyone, I'm Daniel Meswin, and I'm running to be your fourth-year Student Representative. With a background in Geography & Aviation, I know the value of effective communication and collaboration.
If chosen as your Student Representative, my focus will be ensuring that meeting outcomes and important updates are promptly and clearly communicated to all of you. I strongly believe that transparency and open communication are essential for a thriving UWAS community. Being a social person, many of you may already know me, and I'm always approachable and open to your concerns and ideas.
As your representative, I will actively gather feedback, suggestions, and concerns from all of you and effectively present them during meetings with faculty and administration. Together, we can advocate for the changes and improvements that will enhance our student experience at the University of Waterloo.
With my background in Geography & Aviation, coupled with my dedication to transparent communication, I am confident that I am the right fit for this position. I'm excited about the opportunity to represent you and ensure that your voices are heard.
Vote for Daniel Meswin as your Student Representative, and let's work together to create a more connected and informed UWAS community. Thank you for your support!
MICHAEL WHYTE
Hey fourth-years,
My name is Mike, and I'm running for fourth-year rep! I’m in Science and Aviation and currently time building for my CPL, gearing up for Prog 5 and my 300.
Being a local from Cambridge, just a stone's throw away from UW and YKF, aviation has been an integral part of my life. Throughout my time here, I've noticed a disconnect between our aviation community and the aviation society. Many events have struggled with low attendance and have failed to engage a significant number of students, including myself.
However, I believe that this presents a unique advantage for me as a candidate. With my fresh perspective and unbiased outlook, I aim to bridge the gap and create a more inclusive and vibrant community within our aviation program. My primary focus will be on embracing and nurturing the connections among all aviation students at UW, no matter their previous involvement or commitment in anything UWAS related.
Having not been a member of the aviation society before, I bring a fresh and open mindset to the position. I understand the importance of reaching out to all students, especially those who may not be actively participating in every event. By organizing exciting and relevant activities, I aspire to reignite the enthusiasm and engagement of our entire aviation student body.
I understand the challenges and triumphs that accompany flight training, having interacted with both fourth-year students who are ahead of me and those who are behind. This experience allows me to relate to your journey, empathize with your highs and lows, and advocate for the resources and support you need.
I ask for your consideration and support in the upcoming election. Together, we can make our final year at the UW the best year yet and grow a thriving aviation community.
Let's make it happen!

SAMUEL CHEN

Over the years I’ve been in the program, I have come to realize the continuous need to make students more engaged in the aviation society. Given the circumstance that our year is fragmented into different cohorts, there is a lot of connections to be built within our 4th year students. Being a 4th year rep, I wish to create more opportunities to encourage people to be part of the community and gain a sense of belonging regardless of their interests and personality. In our 4th year, I envision a welcoming environment that encourages networking, fostering new friendships and enjoying our time together while successfully reaching milestones in our flight training!
