Recently, Aviation at the University of Waterloo gathered to celebrate students who have completed licenses, or recieved their 'wings.' The event, held every year, is an opportunity to honour a handful of exceptional students, and handout awards and scholarships. The event was held with Waterloo Aviation partners the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre.
Award winning students include:
Rowan MacPhee, Recipient of 'Ethan Latifpoor-Keparoutis Scholarship Award.'
Amir Haniff, Recipient of 'Porter Star Award.'
Graham Mantha, Recipient of 'Jazz Aviation Pathway Award.'
Jodie Scarrow, Recipient of 'Jazz Aviation Pathway Award.'
On hand for the event were Steve Linthwaite from Jazz airlines and Julie Beverstein from Porter airlines. Aviation's relationship with these airlines illustrates how successful partnerships with industry helps students make connections to future employers. The Ethan Latifpoor-Keparoutis Scholarship Award is made possible by a donation from Environment's Director of Advancement. The scholarship is named after her son.
